Dream Theater’s John Petrucci (AKA “God”) is someone we’ve talked about before. Maybe you’ve heard of him. You might have seen this interview where he somehow interviews himself (we don’t know either), or watched this video about his Signature NOMAC Majesty guitar. Well, it’s that special ‘Trooch time again folks.
In the interview segments of this video, John talks about all of the ins and outs that went into the creation of his signature Majesty guitar. He describes it as the culmination of years and years of learning and refining. Definitely a lengthy process to say the least, as he refers to the “10,000 hour” rule to get to the ultimate pinnacle in craftsmanship.
He also plays along to the song “Our New World” off Dream Theater’s thirteenth studio album The Astonishing, released on Roadrunner Records in early 2016. This track is a more melodic ballad but also includes a classic Petrucci-shred solo section that highlights some of the Majesty’s insane fret-access and ergonomic design. It’s lightweight, stays out of your way, and is extremely “performance-minded” as he puts it.
If you’d fancy yourself worthy enough to be in the presence of the Majesty, you can check out the Ernie Ball Music Man website to see all the details and find a dealer close to you. Happy shredding!
