As someone who grew up trying to get their hands on the most epic metal available all the time, I of course eventually wanted to learn how the sounds I was hearing were made. That led me to go to school for music, studying harmony and composition, all the while writing the most epic metal I could for my own band.
Through many years of intensive study, I discovered that although there is a wide, wild world of ways to compose for a choir, there are a few very simple things you can do that will get you a looooong way towards composing your very own over-the-top, Carmina Burana-esque choral harmonies for your own blistering metal tracks, and I’m covering them in today’s video.
p.s. if you’re looking for something MORE in-depth on how to make EVERYTHING about your songs more epic, you should check out my course Making Symphonic Metal with FREE VSTs, where I cover not only choir but also orchestration.
