Composer David Hilowitz kept walking by a Squier Stratocaster affixed to a fence. Eventually the owners of the house with the fence decided to move, and Hilowitz got the guitar. Watch Hilowitz resurrects the Strat, obviously beaten to hell by the elements, to create the track “Broken Math” under the moniker Manwomanchild. And what does Hilowitz call this new instrument? The basitar! Or as he describes it, “a guitar strung with bass strings.” Makes sense.
