HEADRUSH Introduces New MX5 Processor

HeadRush is back with a brand new guitar FX and amp modeling processor, the MX5. The MX5 features a multi-core processor and 4″ high-resolution touch screen, but more importantly comes loaded to the eyeballs with tons of tonal options.

The HeadRush MX5 features 46 amplifier models, 15 cabinets with 10 microphone emulations each, 300 impulse responses, and 63 effects. All the aforementioned are modeled after vintage and modern gear, with a handful of effects specific to the HeadRush MX5. The processor also offers the option to upload your own third-party IRs from your computer or laptop, should you want to take a specific tone with you to a show. Even better, the HeadRush MX5 features gapless preset-switching. This allows you to switch between tones and still have any reverb or delay effects continue to ring out from your previous preset.

Outside the touch screen, the HeadRush MX5 is controlled by three built-in footswitches that toggle three models or scenes. These footswitches also allow you to switch between setlists, to edit your tones entirely with the footswitches in hands-free mode, or even lock the display. Then there’s the expression pedal, which allows for both Classic Mode and Advanced Mode. Classic Mode allows players to utilize one effect at a time, while Advance Mode allows you to blend parameters of each effect for some pretty cool sounds.

The HeadRush MX5 includes a 1/4″ guitar input, a stereo pair of 1/4″ balanced outputs, an 1/8″ headphone output, MIDI I/O, and a 1/4″ stereo FX loop. The HeadRush MX5 is available here for $399.
