George Benson – the jazz guitar master that wrote the absolutely untouchable 1976 album Breezin’ – is selling a bunch of his gear over on Reverb right now! The shop features a load of gear Benson used throughout his career, including the Gibson Johnny Smith guitar that he famously played on Breezin’.
Benson is also parting with several important Ibanez models, including a GB10 that has been his primary touring guitar for over a decade and a one-of-one Ibanez GB that was specially designed after the GB20.
Other items that are in The Official George Benson Reverb Shop include:
- An original D’Aquisto from 1980 that was personally built by master luthier Jimmy D’Aquisto.
- An Ibanez 30th-Anniversary GB Kimono Inlay, which Benson used to perform his duet on a single for guitarist Norman Brown.
- A Gibson L5 Wes Montgomery, complete with a real tortoise shell pickguard.
- An Ibanez GB 45th SSR (the original prototype of Ibanez’s 45th-anniversary guitar) featuring a GB-exclusive-designed adjustable tailpiece.
