Gibson originally created their Les Paul in the super rare Copper Iridescent finish for the 1955 NAMM Show. Of course guitar super collector Joe Bonamassa got his hands on it and, through his partnership with Gibson, has just unveiled an Epiphone version of the elusive model.
“From a distance, it looks brown, but in direct light, it has gold metal flake in the finish,” said Bonamassa of the finish.
Epiphone’s Joe Bonamassa 1955 Les Paul Standard faithfully recreates the guitar featuring the same Copper Iridescent color, a pair of Epiphone P-90 PRO pickups wired to CTS potentiometers and Mallory capacitors, a Custom ’59 Rounded C-neck profile, a long neck tenon, and a “Nerdville” graphic hardshell case. The Epiphone Joe Bonamassa 1955 Les Paul Standard offers a Maple body, a Mahogany neck with Laurel fingerboard and 22 frets.
