Catalinbread has given their Callisto pedal a bit of a facelift with their MKII version. The new Callisto MKII keeps all the analog internals of the original and is controlled by Mix, Feedback, Depth, and Rate knobs to really adjust the chorus and flanger effects. Where the MKII gets interesting is the Feedback knob, whose purpose according to Catalinbread is to dump “a varying amount of signal from the output of the BBD chip back into the circuit after the filtering occurs.”
Ultimately, the MKII really straddles the line between a chorus and a flanger. You’re not quite getting a dedicated version of either because you’re somewhere in-between… and really, isn’t that the most fun? Grab one here for $209.
