German company afk-audio has unveiled drumbeam, which is a pretty wild-looking drumming controller that combines sleek, minimalistic design with cutting-edge technology.
At its core, drumbeam offers a fully customizable interface that gives quite a few drum-related options. drumbeam allows players to individually adjust the size, color, brightness, velocity, and behavior of up to 18 drum segments. These are represented by LED guides on front and back, making it visually a lot easier to keep track of what’s happening.
drumbeam employs innovative sensors that detect the exact force and position of each hit, allowing for seamless fades between samples, multi-touch performances, and real-time modulation of MIDI-CC controls. This enables artists to create exciting variations and astonishing effects with their hands or drumsticks.
