I’ve been watching bootlegs from KILL THAT CAT, an online live footage archive, for years. Run by Daniel Hague, the archive boasts bootleg footage from the golden eras of so many great bands, like Mastodon, Dillinger Escape Plan, Discordance Axis, Faith No More, Exodus, and way more. In addition to their vast backlog, they’re also constantly adding new material.
So while I was sitting on my butt on YouTube over the weekend, I was stoked to see that the archive had added a bunch of vintage, complete live Gorguts sets, from several eras of the band in the 1990s. Now, these aren’t the pro-shot, soundboard-mixed live sets that many of you are now accustomed to. But they’re cool as shit, and historical as fuck.
Too raw for you? Check out some pro footage of the band performing “Obscura” in 1998:

I’ve long wondered what bass Steve Cloutier uses on the last 3 videos, anyone have any idea? Someone once got something real close, saying it was a custom ESP neck-through b-405, but Im not so sure, glad to get a closer look at the bass, can anyone identify the model?

It’s an older Warwick neckthrough, I can’t remember the name for the life of me though.
