As it should, Metallica’s releasing a new song has caused quite a stir. Aside from what I’m sure are hundreds of cover versions of their song “Hardwired”, some folks have taken it that one step further, reimagining the track as what it could have been, rather than what it is. It’s basically the musical equivalent of fanfiction. I can get behind that!
Mateus Elildo is an intrepid young guitarist who undertook just such a fanfic take on the song, this time playing it with tones of other Big 4 thrash bands, which makes for a very interesting alternate history kind of approach, wondering how it might have been.
