Being a Producer is Like Being A Parent

To read just that statement alone, I would usually disagree – it’s more like babysitting, generally. Teaching a band of children how to act like adults (production-wise), making sure they’re where they need to be, and keeping them from breaking things is how most of your time is spent – then, when all that’s done, you shape the musical and production direction of the album.

But this isn’t what Brian Storm is getting at in the below video. He’s referring to his mixes as his children, and that nurturing them is a full-time job, just like being a dad or mom. The results are typically hilarious, and ring oh so true for anyone who’s ever birthed a mix.

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
