Metal has the power to improve just about anything it touches. Metal covers of pop songs are all the rage these days, and for good reason – they’re awesome. Hearing a familiar song with a heavy twist will always level it up.
Glenn Fricker of Spectre Media Group is nearing 200,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, and to help him reach that goal, he’s announced a pretty huge contest – the Oldies but Baddies cover contest. It’s a fun tribute to the shittiest songs of the 60s, 70s, and 80s – find the worst one you can and cover it in a metal style for a chance to win one of the big prizes. The grand prizes are a Pure Perception audio production PC and a Revv Amplification Generator 120 MKI 4 channel amp, while runners up receive Two Notes Engineering Le Preamp pedals (like the one I reviewed).
So brush up on your Captain and Tennille or Air Supply and give it a metal update, and you could wind up winning big!
