Moog Music have been around for over six decades and have made some of the most well-known and recognizable analog synthesizers to date. Founded by Robert Moog in 1953, the company started out by manufacturing theremins (cue Twilight Zone music) before later transitioning to the modular synthesizers we all know and love today. Recently, the people at Vintage King got to go on a grand historical tour of the Moog Music headquarters in Ashville, NC, and got some neat footage of what goes on in the land of synths. Check it!
There’s obviously a lot that goes on behind-the-scenes at Moog, but one of the most noteable takeaways is the company’s crystal clear idea of who they are as an organization and how they represent themselves in their synthesizers. As you could probably tell, the spirit of Robert Moog is alive and well at the Moog headquarters, and it’s pretty cool to see how his legacy is truly in every aspect of the work that Moog Music does. Whether it be the classic synths or more modern products, there’s a clear respect for where it all started, and hey, that’s pretty dope.
