Bassist Glenn Hughes, whose résumé includes Black Country Communion, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple, has teamed up with Orange Amplifiers for the Orange Crush Bass 50 Glenn Hughes Limited Edition.
The Glenn Hughes Crush Bass 50 draws from Orange’s classic OB1 and 4 Stroke amplifiers, and features punchy lows thanks to its analogue circuitry and ported cabinet. The Glenn Hughes Crush Bass 50 offers a flexible active EQ section with a sweepable parametric mid band, interactive Gain and Blend controls for creating enormous “bi-amped”-style tones, buffered effects loop, integrated tuner, aux. input, and a headphone output.
“You can go in the studio, take that bass combo and make your album with something like that, it’s truly outstanding,” said Hughes of the amplifier. “It’s gritty, it’s punchy: sustain is so important and its certainly got all that.” As an added bonus, the Glenn Hughes Crush Bass 50 features a purple cabinet.
