It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, although my allegiance may adjust when Colbert hits the airwaves next week. Jimmy is always coming up with creative bits and interesting ways to put celebrities to the test, and that was no different when Justin Bieber was invited on the show last night.
I knew that Bieber was a (reasonably) talented multi-instrumentalist, but when he sat down to duel with The Roots drummer Questlove, one of my personal favorite modern drummers, I wasn’t prepared for just how good he actually is. Like the kid has great limb coordination, knows some John Bonham rolls, and can hold his own in keeping down a groove. Although I’m sure 99% of our audience hates Bieber’s guts, you’ve gotta hand it to the kid, he’s not bad (and his new material is pretty good)!
