Jared Dines: 15 Classic Riffs In 15 Different Styles

Is Jared Dines the leading man when it comes to Internet guitar/djent-core memers? It certainly seems like it, whether he’s using 13 guitars in one song, exploring the differences between hardcore and easycore, or writing 12-string metal (that last one took me a second to realize how ridiculous it is, which speaks a lot to how far down that rabbit hole we’ve gone).

His newest venture is pretty straightforward – take a classic riff, and play it in a completely different style. Some of these are pretty spot on, while others feel a bit tossed off (see the jazz version of “Raining Blood”), but overall it’s pretty interesting to hear these Guitar Center standards in a totally different context.

Licks include classics by Dio, Weezer, Rage Against the Machine, Guns N’ Roses, The White Stripes, Led Zeppelin, and more. Dig:
