Dimmu Borgir Percussionist Daray Brzozowski Makes Me Hungry for Drums, Life, Lunch

I have a friend who always refers to Dimmu Borgir as “Dimmu Burger,” and it makes me hungry every time. Like right now, I’m on a train, commuting to my day job, and all I’m thinking about is a veggie burger on a pretzeled roll with grilled onions, roasted red peppers, some avocado, hummus, Sriracha maybe or some HP Sauce… damnit. This is going to make me really sad when I get to the office and sate my appetite on a sad bowl of cereal and a bruised pear.

Now that we’re all in a bad mood anyway, let’s beat the fuck out of some drums. Oh, shitfucker, we don’t have drums either, just some bullshit laptop. Well then how about Dimmu Burger’s Daray Brzozowski takes care of that for us? Here’s almost 8 minutes of Daray blazing through what I’m assuming is Dim Sum Burger material, but I’ll be honest and admit that I’m not that familiar with much of Dairy Baguette’s back catalog.

The performance was captured at Tama’s 40th Anniversary Drum Festival, and was shared not only by Tama but by Meinl as well, so between the two social media streams we got a breakdown of his entire drum and cymbal setup. I’ve included them below the video.

Chris Alfano has written about music and toured in bands since print magazines and mp3.com were popular. Once in high-school he hacked a friend's QBasic stick figure fighting game to add a chiptune metal soundtrack. Random attractive people still give him high-fives about that.
