Exclusive Playthrough: Moon Tooth Lead The Wolfpack… With Shred

Man. This new Moon Tooth joint. I’ve not been following these guys’ career all too closely, but have always had a lot of respect for what they’re trying to do with their tunes. But “Queen Wolf” feels like a coming together of all the musical elements they love to play with, and is a welcome indicator of where the band is headed on upcoming full-length Chromaparagon.

So we’re stoked to premiere guitarist Nick Lee’s playthrough of the track. As you’ll find out below, Nick plays the guitar like his fingers are trapeze artists, but what I actually enjoyed the most about the riffs on this thing was the thoughtful feel for voice leading. That’s something you never hear in metal, outside of your occasional Tosin Abasi. Dig it:
