Walrus Audio has released the Lo-Fi Delay as part of its streamlined Fundamental Series, offering three distinct lo-fi delay algorithms in a pedal built around simple, no-menu-diving controls.

The pedal offers three selectable modes via a 3-way switch. AM emphasizes high frequencies with a limited bandwidth, producing bright repeats that gradually bloom into ambient trails. Murk goes the opposite direction, generating dark, swelling delay clouds that respond to pick attack, suited to long repeats sitting underneath a performance. Echo mode delivers syncopated, multi-tap rhythms with a gritty character, and pairs especially well with the pedal’s tap tempo function for locking repeats to a specific rhythmic feel.
Tap tempo is engaged by holding the footswitch until the LED blinks, then tapping in the desired tempo. Players can also choose between trails mode, which lets existing repeats fade out naturally after the pedal is disengaged, or true bypass, which cuts the signal immediately for a more dramatic effect.
True to the Fundamental Series’ design philosophy, the Lo-Fi Delay keeps its control set minimal – just three sliders and the 3-way mode switch – making it approachable for beginners while still offering enough tonal range for gigging players who want lo-fi character without digging through secondary menus or hidden functions.
