Stone’s New Exotic Wood Snare Drums are Super American

Stone Custom Drums are know for two things: owning the original Slingerland tools and molds, and for producing some gorgeous drums from unconventional woods.

Now they’ve just announced these Super American Exotic snare drums, which makes them sound like they’re ultra Uncle Sam patriotic, instead of very exotic like I’m assuming the company intended with the name, but let’s give a pass to semantic squabbles, because I’m a sucker for a good koa instrument. These 14″ snares also come in rosewood and bubinga, all of which are over native Indiana woods like cherry, for a combined 7 plys. Options are 10 or 12 lugs, and 5 1/2″ and 6 1/2″ depths. For more info, head to Stone’s website.
