NAMM 2014: The Blackstar Amplification Booth

If you wanted an assortment of new combo amps for low-volume rocking in your house/practice space/mausoleum, then Blackstar had no lack-star. They gave us a demo of their ID:Core amps which come in 10, 20, and 40 watts depending on how quiet you need your high-gain quiet to be. There’s an assortment of voicings, built-in stereo effects, software integration, and an aux-input for playing along to music, which I think should be required by law in all low-wattage practice amps.

Chris Alfano has written about music and toured in bands since print magazines and mp3.com were popular. Once in high-school he hacked a friend's QBasic stick figure fighting game to add a chiptune metal soundtrack. Random attractive people still give him high-fives about that.
