Actor and musician Jason Momoa is auctioning off a bunch of his custom gear for a wide variety of charities including MusiCares, the Fender Play Foundation, Make A Wish, and St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
Among the instruments being auctioned off are a few Les Pauls – ones in the linage of Slash and Billy Gibbons – while bassists can get in on the auction too thanks to a Les Claypool-played Carl Thompson Pachyderm bass. There’s also a ukelele in there going for $800 at the moment, in the event you wanna get in on some Momoa-played action without annihilating your bank account. Some other pieces include a Carl Thompson fretless four-string electric bass guitar, a Fender Custom Shop ’51 Esquire Heavy Relic and more.
All gear for this auction was acquired during Momoa’s recent show On The Roam. A better look at some highlights include:
- A Gibson custom Billy Gibbons signed Pearly Gates Les Paul guitar (estimate: $8,000 – $10,000). This Gibson Custom Murphy Lab Ultra Heavy Aged Les Paul is a replica of ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons’ famous 1959 model known to the world as Pearly Gates and signed by Gibbons
- A Gibson Custom Slash “Jessica” Les Paul (estimate: $8,000 – $10,000). This Gibson Custom Jessica is a replica of the main guitar Slash has used since 1988
- A 2020 Pachyderm solid body electric bass guitar custom made by luthier Dan Maloney for Jason Momoa and played on tour by Les Claypool of Primus and seen in the hands of Claypool during the series’ seventh episode, as seen above
It’s tough to really say what the “deals” here are, considering the bids are always shifting upward. Check out the full list of gear here over at Julien’s Auctions.
