In the year prior to his death, Children Of Bodom guitarist and vocalist Alexi Laiho was working on a new signature series of guitars with ESP. Those series, the Alexi Ripped and Alexi Hexed, have just been announced and they look great. Even better, both the Ripped and the Hexed offer lower-priced LTD options for those not looking to go broke.
The Alexi Ripped offers both a hand-crafted ESP and LTD version, as well as an E-II option. All three feature an Alder body with a Maple neck and Ebony fretboard, scalloped from the 19th fret onward. All options also include an EMG HZ F-H2 humbucker in the bridge and an EMG HZ S2 single-coil in the neck. The ESP and E-II versions come with a Floyd Rose Original bridge and an ESP MM-04 active boost switch, while the LTD version has a Floyd Rose 1000 bridge and a three-way pickup selector.
The Alexi Ripped ESP is available for $5,799, the E-II for $2,499, and the LTD for $1,599.
The Alexi Hexed offers both an ESP and LTD version. Both versions feature an Alder body with a Maple neck and a scalloped from the 19th fret onward, with the ESP version having a Macassar Ebony fretboard and the LTD version having a Ebony fretboard. The LTD version comes equipped with a Floyd Rose 1000 and sole EMG HZ FH-2 humbucker. The hand-crafted ESP offers a Floyd Rose Original and a ESP MM-04 Active Boost Switch, as well as a sole EMG HZ FH-2 humbucker.
The Alexi Hexed ESP is available for $5,599 and the LTD for $1,549. Check ’em all out here.
