Way back in 2022, Ernie Ball Music Man teamed up with guitarist Tosin Abasi for the brand new Kaizen series. The series has undergone a series of pretty cool iterations over the years, which now includes the super limited-edition Black Limba versions of the Ernie Ball Music Man Kaizen.
The Black Limba Kaizens each feature a natural Black Limba body with a satin finish, alongside a Roasted Figured Maple neck with an oil and wax finish and a smoky Ebony fingerboard with a 24.75″ to 25.5””(E to E, 24.75″ to 25.65″ E to B on 7 string) multi-scale. The Black Limba Kaizens also offer a Music Man Custom multi-scale tremolo with cover and spring dampeners to alleviate unwanted overtones and ringing.
The Black Limba Kaizens come loaded with a Ernie Ball Music Man designed custom HT (Heat Treated) humbucker in the bridge position, and a slanted mini-humbucker in the neck position. Overall the Kaizen pickups give ultra-high-output, powerful low-end response while retaining a distinctively clean, clear tone and definition at lower volume levels.
“This is very cool,” said Ernie Ball Music Man’s A.J. Braman. “We’re doing a limited run of Kaizen that features a satin finish black Limba body. It’s kind of a simple, rustic look, but very elegant. Probably my favorite look on the Kaizen so far. That Black Limba is paired with a smoky Ebony fretboard and roasted figured maple necks. We’re limiting these to 50 6-strings and 50 7-string versions.”
The Ernie Ball Music Man Kaizen is available here for $3,799 as a 6-string model and $3,999 as a 7-string model.
