ProMark, which was acquired by D’Addario in 2011, makes drumsticks that are used by a variety of big gun metal and prog drummers, including Mike Portnoy, Neil Peart, Dave Lombardo, Joey Jordison, and more. Although I personally was always more of a fan of the weight and comfort of Vater sticks, plenty of guys swear by ProMark.
Which makes sense, given the variety of options they are starting to provide. We caught up with the company at NAMM to talk about their Select Balanced line of drumsticks, which provides various sizes in two different weight distribution options: in front and back.
