FIND OF THE WEEK: $35,000 Signed Hand-Painted Splatter JACKSON USA Custom Shop Guitar Owned By DEF LEPPARD’s Phil Collen

This one’s for all you diehard Def Leppard fans! On this latest edition of our Find of the Week series, we’ve stumbled across this one-of-a-kind signed and hand-painted Jackson USA Custom Shop guitar owned by guitarist Phil Collen of Def Leppard! There’s a lot to digest about this guitar: the fact that Phil Collen played it on the 2011 Mirror Ball Tour and hand-painted it in a wild rainbow splatter, the fact that it made an appearance on an episode of Pawn Stars (pics below), and of course, the hefty price tag of almost $35,000.

From the seller, Essex Recording Studios:

“This is functional fine art with exceptional provenance of the highest calibre. Take the value of the guitar alone, then add the fact that is was transformed into a modern art painting by a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame guitarist with over 100 million records sold…and one of only 5 rock bands in history with 2 records achieving more than 10 million sales in America…..and then add the factor that this artist performed live on tour with this very guitar…the result is tremendous value that cannot be duplicated. Is it worth as much as a new Rolex Daytona watch? Certainly. Which would you rather have?”

If this is truly the axe of your dreams and you’ve just paid off your mortgage, you can snag it here on Reverb!

If this guitar isn’t within your ideal budget but you still need a guitar that embodies the spirit of Phil Collen, might we suggest this PC1 2016 Satin Green Jackson guitar signed by the man himself for only $4500? Specs include a caramelized mahogany body with 1/8” quilt maple top, bolt-on two-piece caramelized quartersawn flame maple neck with hand-rubbed urethane gel on the back and graphite reinforcement, 12-16 in. compound radius caramelized flame maple fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets, convenient thumbwheel truss rod butt adjust and licensed Fender Stratocaster headstock, as well as Collen’s favored H/S/S configuration and DiMarzio DP-152-F bridge pickup, DiMarzio HS-2 DP116 middle pickup, and a PC1 Sustainer Driver as the neck pickup.

Alright, still out of your price range? What about this Jackson USA Signature Phil Collen PC1 Satin Transparent Blue guitar? Not signed by Phil, but fully-loaded with his mojo and comes in one of the most gorgeous finishes we’ve seen on these guitars. Plus, it’s at the much more affordable cost of $2800 plus shipping, so you can still have a sweet new guitar and help your kids through college!
