Before today, I wasn’t too familiar with the Boulder, Colorado-based Call of the Void, but I’ll listen to anything released by my favorite record label, Relapse, and I’m also a huge fan of the Centennial state. Turns out I’d been fucking up. Call of the Void’s blend of attack-y crust, riff-y doom, and thrash-y grind makes for a delicious brew, like some kind of  finely prepared Rocky Mountain craft beer. Think Napalm Death or Pig Destroyer, but with less brutality and more rock.
Call of the Void have a new record, Ageless, that comes out on February 10th. Relapse, along with our friends at MetalInjection, have teamed up to premiere some in-studio footage of the band laying down drums, guitars, bass for the album with engineer Andy Patterson, which you can check out below, along with new song “Cold Hands.” Consider yourself stoked.
