Nothing says “I don’t give a fuck about your rules, sheeple” like using a bottom hi-hat for a top. It’s like eating breakfast for lunch, or pooping and then leaving the stall to pee in the urinal. The limitations of common man need to be exploded, and Avenged Sevenfold drummer Arin Ilejay, already flying against the gale winds of tradition with an asymetrical haircut, is here to drop kick down one more sky-door.
The rest of his Zildjian ensemble is, alas, less innovative, but if you don’t acknowledge the lines at all then you don’t get the satisfying crunch when you drive over them. I suppose a 19″ and 20″ China is quite a bit of China, but that’s more a feat of excess than eccentricity. Get the full rundown below, if you think your mundane mind can handle it.
- 14″ A Custom Mastersound HiHat Bottom x2 (HiHat setup)
- 10″ FX Trashformer
- 12″ FX Oriental China “Trash”
- 19″ A Custom Projection Crash x2
- 20″ A Custom Crash x2
- 19″ A Ultra Hammered China
- 20″ A Custom China
- 20″ A Custom EFX + 18″ A Custom Crash (stack)
- 22″ A Custom Ride x2
