A Lesson in Drum Combos from Alice Cooper Drummer Glen Sobel

Combos: terrible snacks but a useful move on the drumkit. Glen Sobel, currently the drummer for Alice Cooper but also known for being the rhythm section behind Paul Gilbert, Gary Hoey, and more, wants to help you master them.

I’m sure you’ve played quite a few hand/foot combinations in your time (hell, the quad is the staple of sounding impressive on a double kick pedal with minimal effort), but in case you want to up your game, Glen is going for the Sobel Prize in teaching you more. So check out his 9 minute lesson, the first of a series.

Chris Alfano has written about music and toured in bands since print magazines and mp3.com were popular. Once in high-school he hacked a friend's QBasic stick figure fighting game to add a chiptune metal soundtrack. Random attractive people still give him high-fives about that.
