Mark Michell Teaches You String Skipping on Bass

Our pal Mark Michell from Scale the Summit has been one of the more forward-thinking musicians in modern metal when it comes to finding new ways to reach his audience, primarily via different forms of music instruction. His latest venture, Low End University, is an online outlet dedicated to video lessons, playthroughs, tabs and transcriptions, live q&a’s, and more, entirely for the bass guitar.

What I like about websites like Low End University is that they are continuing to push in the direction of offering musicians the chance to learn directly from the source of their favorite players. So if you’re a Scale the Summit fan and you play bass, it’s pretty much a no-brainer that you’re going to want to sign up for this site.

If you want a look at the kinds of content Mark puts on Low End University, he’s recently uploaded a free teaser video lesson, focusing on string-skipping. It looks like this is video number 52 from this dude (dang!), so there is plenty more where that came from.
