To call Alkaloid a tech-death supergroup is a vast understatement. With current and former members of Obscura, Spawn of Possession, Aborted, Dark Fortress, Necrophagist, God Dethroned, Blotted Science and Noneuclid, it’s more like a pantheon.
They successfully crowdfunded their new album The Malkuth Grimoire and it is now available directly from them on their website. It always gives me a glimmer of hope to see an independent band have success like that, so kudos to them.
Bassist Linus Klausenitzer is also a member of Obscura, and that alone should tell you something about his skill level. That, coupled with the fact that he often plays a 7 string fretless should give you an idea of what kind of masochistic nutjob we’re talking about.
