Greylotus is a band you might not be that familiar with, but will definitely be hearing about more and more in the coming months. The Baltimore-based deathcore project is the brainchild of musical mastermind Ben Towles, whose crushing vocals and gnarly shredding have created one of the most unique metal sounds we’ve heard in a long time. With the release of his debut EP Savior back in January of this year, we’re excited to premiere the official music video for the second song “The Grip”, only right here, on Gear Gods!
Now, this track has a ton going for it. Featuring tons of chunky, shifting riffs from both Towles and guitarist Adam Graft, brutal vocals left and right, and some excellent beats from drummer Aaron Stechauner, this thing is nothing short of a total banger. And how about the video itself? Downright s p o o p y. That might make sense because both the song and video were produced by the one and only Drewsif, so you know it’s gonna be good. When you combine tight-as-hell production with terrifying visuals, that’s a win-win in our book. High fives all around.
One of our absolute favorite things is being able to support up-and-coming artists who show a lot of promise, and as far as we’re concerned, Greylotus is on a path to a pretty damn successful future. Be sure to support this musical endeavor on Facebook and to stream/purchase Savior on Spotify and Bandcamp.
