Joe and Dave Haley are the heart and soul of Australian band Psycroptic, and the heart of the sound is Joe’s absolutely insane guitar playing. The body of the sound is of course, metal, but the amount of exotic, jazzy, fusion-y playing almost tips the ratio the other way.
Watch Joe just fucking slaying his Ormsby guitar to the tune of the Psycroptic song “A Soul Once Lost”, from their 2015 self-titled album Psycroptic. It appears that the sound is live audio, he doesn’t appear to be miming at all.
