Guitarists Drew Creal and Christian Colabelli have teamed up for a new project called P3RMAFROST and we’re premiering three playthrough videos, because listen – you need this amount of guitar goodness in your life.
P3RMAFROST’s debut EP is out now, and the aforementioned duo is hardly the only talent featured. To round out the rhythm section, the pair brought in a rotating cast of drummers from the heavy music scene: Matt Guglielmo (The Acacia Strain, END), Zach Dean (Humanity’s Last Breath, Alluvial), Nathan Sletner (Fly in Formation), and Jordan McGee (Advent).
Creal recorded primarily on a Kiesel Vader 8-string chambered Walnut guitar loaded with Thorium and Empyrean pickups, switching to a stock Fender Yngwie Malmsteen Signature Stratocaster for solos.
Colabelli’s main guitar is a custom Suhr Modern HSH he’s played since 2014. He tracked most of the record through a White Python-finished Revv Generator 120 MK III running EL-34 tubes, with a pedalboard built around a Horizon Devices Precision Drive into the front of the amp, and a Digitech Rubberneck with Barn3 OXU Mini into an Eventide H9 with OXU Three sitting in the effects loop.
