Another Killer Death Angel Playthrough from the EMG Studio

EMG is apparently sitting on a veritable bonanza of Death Angel videos. This time they feature the track “Execution/Don’t Save Me.” As I said the last time a Death Angel video was covered here, I dig the balance between Rob Cavestany’s more high-tech midi-controlled Engl rack rig and the more bare-bones Mesa/Boogie Mark V that Ted Aguilar runs.

Although I do think Ted Aguilar is missing some serious endorsement opportunities by playing guitar instead of bass.

Chris Alfano has written about music and toured in bands since print magazines and mp3.com were popular. Once in high-school he hacked a friend's QBasic stick figure fighting game to add a chiptune metal soundtrack. Random attractive people still give him high-fives about that.

  • I haven’t bought any ‘Death Angel’ stuff since their first ‘The Organization’ (after “Act III”) album.. This is some good clean riffing, but I gotta say that the solos were a bit weak.

  • the solos did seem researched for the purpose of being different and unusual, sinister scale action
