Aethere are a Northern California band who’ve been grinding it out for a while now, with multiple releases and tours under their collective belt since their inception in ’09. The passion and dedication these dudes have poured into their exceptional fusion of death, black, and -core metal has most certainly paid off, having been recently signed to Tragic Hero Records as of earlier this year. In this clip, guitarist Chris Tognetti expertly navigates through “Abandoned” – a track from Aethere’s latest record, Adrift.

‘Abandoned’ came from an idea that I’ve been working with off and on for a few years now and brought to the band last year. I try to utilize a lot of dense layering and harmonies within my arrangements, and I think the sparse vocals here really help complement that aspect of this song in particular. This is one of my personal favorite tracks on Adrift; this is ‘Abandoned.’
