Solar Guitars originally rolled out their AP Series with two excellent models, and then immediately went neon green. Now they’re doing another loud-ass color, and it’s pink. Like, pink as fuck.
The Type AP1.6HPNG – first and foremost, finished in an unmistakable Pink Neon Gloss – features a set-thru 3-Piece Maple neck, an Alder body, and a 25.5” scale length to keep things tight and articulate.
The neck profile is a thin, fast C shape—is designed for effortless movement, and is paired with an Ebony fingerboard featuring 24 stainless steel super-jumbo frets. A 350mm radius ensures a smooth feel for both chording and lead work, while Luminlay glow-in-the-dark side dots keep things visible under stage lighting. And thanks to the sculpted cutaway scoop and full-access neck joint, every fret is within easy reach.
Loaded with Duncan Solar pickups, the AP1.6HPNG covers a wide tonal spectrum—from organic cleans to saturated, high-gain aggression. These passive pickups are wired to a 5-way blade switch, offering expanded tonal flexibility beyond typical dual-humbucker setups.
Stability is handled by a USA-made Hipshot bridge, known for its precision and reliability. Combined with Solar locking tuners and a Black TUSQ nut, the guitar maintains solid tuning integrity even under demanding conditions.
The dual-action truss rod allows for fine neck adjustments, while the overall construction ensures consistency across different environments. Get the Type AP1.6HPNG here for $1,299 and keep up with all our Solar Guitars coverage right here!
