Yamaha is back with two brand new acoustic guitars – the FS9 R with an Indian Rosewood body, and the FS9 M with a African Mahogany body.

Both the FS9 models offers solid Adirondack Spruce tops with tapered edges, a new neck design that combines bolt-on and glued construction to increase sustain, a rounded V-shaped Mahogany neck with Ebony fretboard, and inlays that resemble traditional Japanese Kumiki woodworking. Both FS9 models are Concert style acoustic guitars, and both offer a 25″ scale.

“We created the Yamaha FS9 to be the concert-style companion to our FG9 flagship steel-string acoustic guitar,” said Brandon Soriano, marketing manager, Yamaha Guitar Group.

“When designing the new line, we took a scientific approach—combining cutting-edge acoustic measurement and analysis with traditional craftsmanship from our skilled luthiers. This level of artistry and detail distinguishes the FS9 from all other instruments in its class.”

The FS9 M is available here for $3,999.99, while the FS9 R is available here for $4,099.99.
