VICTORY Offers Great Tone With Plug-And-Play Ease Thanks To Their Deputy Head

Danish session guitarist Peter “Danish Pete” has teamed up with Victory Amplification for the all-new Victory The Deputy Lunchbox Head – a compact version of their Deputy Compact Head.

The Deputy Lunchbox retains the full functionality of the original Deputy while adding a sleek, modern edge. The single-channel amp is powered by 2 x EL86 valves for 25 watts of dynamic, responsive tone and offs everything from an FX loop and built-in reverb to a 3-way voice switch and a bright switch.

“So what’s different about The Deputy? It’s in the style of a JTM45 or maybe a 1989 Marshally-type vibe, but it has reverb—which is really important to me,” said Honoré of the amp.

“It’s got an effects loop as well. The reverb is digital, and we actually took it from the DP40 version of The Dutch. We lifted the reverb and put it in here because there really aren’t any Marshally-type amps out there with reverb built in.”

On how the collaboration came to be and why it matters, Honoré added: “As you know, I’ve been really lucky to play hundreds and hundreds of amps while working on the Andertons YouTube channel.

“Then, I was lucky enough that Victory asked me to work with them on a new amplifier. I always felt like something was missing in the Victory lineup. They had the clean amps—the Dodges—and then they had The Sheriff, which was more of a Marshally, higher-gain amp.

“I felt like there was a gap between those two amps. So when I worked with Martin Kidd, I said, ‘Can we do something a bit in between? Something that can do a really nice clean, but also some gainy stuff—enough to really rock out.’ And thus, The Deputy tube amp was born.”
