The Infinity Grid EZX delivers a collection of dark, dynamic, and powerful drum sounds designed specifically for modern and progressive metal. Created in collaboration with Jay Postones of TesseracT, this expansion provides everything from heavy, aggressive tones to intricate, detailed dynamics.
The expansion features three distinct drum kits, each chosen for its unique character and recorded at the Back Stage room of Sound Stage Studios in Nashville. Engineered by Steve Blackmon, the sessions took place in a space chosen for its balance of clarity and punch — roomy enough to let the drums breathe, but tight enough to maintain definition.
Each kit includes mix-ready presets created by Blackmon, Toontrack, and Acle Kahney (also of TesseracT). These presets incorporate layered one-shot samples to add weight, attack, and depth to kicks and snares, giving producers a wide range of tones that fit seamlessly into any modern mix. For those who prefer a more natural sound, “Original Mix” versions of each kit are also included.
The Infinity Grid EZX features a total of five kicks, ten snares, fifteen toms, twenty-two cymbals, and two hi-hat sets, all sampled in detail to capture the full dynamic range of Postones’ performance. The included MIDI library, performed by Postones himself, provides a collection of grooves and fills ideal for progressive and heavy styles, organized for quick, efficient songwriting and production.
