Fortin Amplification’s Mike Fortin has teamed up with the mind-melting men behind Meshuggah’s riffs for the brand new, signature Meshuggah Pedal.
The Meshuggah Pedal is a distortion and premap pedal that’ll let you rip riffs like “Rational Gaze” and “Ligature Marks” as close to the studio recording as you possibly can. Well, that or take on the world with your own downtuned riffs.
Fortin compares the Meshuggah Pedal to the previously-released Meshuggah amplifier, saying: “Mike got as close as he could to the tone, and most importantly, the feel of the amp. If you are to run the Meshuggah into the power section of a Meshuggah amp, or even into the IR section of the Neural DSP Nameless X suite, the tonal differences are extremely hard to hear.”
The Meshuggah Pedal offers two channels, with Channel 1 offering up an extra gain stage for a total of two. The pedal also has a hugely responsive 3 band active EQ, so you don’t just cut frequencies, you can add them as well! There’s also an MVC knob to control the output level of the pedal, as well as a Lo/Hi switch used to take the pedal from classic rock to a fire breathing high gain monster.
And finally, the Meshuggah Pedal incorporates the legendary Fortin Zuul Noise Gate. Utilizing the Key system from the Zuul pedal, the gate reacts to your instrument only.
