The Big Muff is Movin’ on Up to a “Deluxe” Apartment in the Pi

One of these days someone will open a store that sells nothing but Big Muffs. Old ones, new ones, those old enormous ones, mini muffs, fuzz, metal, rock, bass, guitar, American, Russian. What I’m saying is, there have been a lot of Big Muffs.

But Electro-Harmonix haven’t had emuff. They’ve gone “Deluxe.” The Big Muff Pi Deluxe is a hot-rodded NYC Big Muff Pi, but with a footswitchable “Mids” section. Boost the mids, cut them, either way hit the second button and the tone shaping option comes into the signal path. The coolest part is the expression pedal input, which you can use to sweep the midrange frequency.

And by the way, if you’re ever looking to attempt to try to possibly get a grasp on the myriad Muffs in the history of Pi, this website is a good place to start.

  • idk a store that sells big muffs sounds illegal in the country of the USA.

  • Would be awesome if you could assign any of the controls to the expression.
