The long-standing collaboration between progressive virtuoso Plini and Strandberg Guitars has yielded some of the brand’s most in-demand instruments. Now, with the release of Plini’s new EP Mirage, the partnership continues with the Boden Standard NX 6 Plini Edition Mirage.
Built around the solid body construction of the Standard series, the Mirage edition sets itself apart with a dramatic Black Granite satin finish adorned with glow-in-the-dark graphics pulled straight from the Mirage artwork. The look is unmistakable, pairing artful aesthetics with Strandberg’s signature ergonomic body shape for a guitar that’s as bold visually as it is tonally.
The body is crafted from solid Meranti, offering a punchy, well-balanced sonic foundation. The roasted Maple neck, reinforced with carbon fiber rods, joins the body via Strandberg’s NX sculpted bolt-on neck heel, offering seamless access all the way up the 24-fret Ebonol fingerboard. The EndurNeck profile makes long sessions fatigue-free, while Jescar stainless steel fretwire ensures long-term durability and smooth playability.
Tone comes courtesy of a custom H-H pickup set designed specifically for Strandberg. The 3-way switch unlocks a wide tonal range: from full-bodied bridge humbucker tones, to glassy inner-coil cleans, to warm, articulate neck leads. It’s the kind of versatile setup that suits Plini’s dynamic, genre-blending playing style. A master volume keeps things streamlined.
Hardware includes the updated EGS Rev7B tremolo system with a pop-in arm and precise black anodized components throughout. Luminlay green side dots and a custom Plini moon inlay make for easy orientation in low light, adding both function and flair. The guitar ships with D’Addario NYXL 10–46 strings, set up in standard tuning and ready to perform right out of the included gig bag.
