STRANDBERG Releases Rare Neck-Thru NX Guitar

Originally conceived as a continuation of Strandberg’s Neck-Thru philosophy within the NX lineup, the Boden Original NX 6 Neck-Thru Titanium Satin LE never made it into full production. Now, in a limited release, this rare design finally finds its way into players’ hands, offering a glimpse into an alternate evolution of the Boden platform.

At the heart of the instrument is its Neck-Thru construction, built from Roasted Maple. This design choice fundamentally reshapes the playing experience, delivering seamless upper fret access and a continuous tonal transfer from headstock to bridge.

Flanking the central neck are Chambered Swamp Ash body wings, contributing both resonance and weight reduction. The result is a guitar that feels remarkably light and balanced, yet retains a full, articulate voice with plenty of dynamic range.

The Roasted Birdseye Maple fretboard adds both visual character and tactile precision. Its smooth surface complements Strandberg’s ergonomic philosophy, encouraging fast, efficient movement across the entire register. Tonally, the Boden Original NX 6 Neck-Thru LE leans on a proven combination: Seymour Duncan JB and ’59 humbuckers.

The JB in the bridge position delivers tight lows, pronounced mids, and cutting highs — ideal for high-gain applications and articulate rhythm work. In the neck, the ’59 provides a smoother, more rounded response, perfect for clean passages and expressive lead playing. Together, they form a balanced, dynamic setup that complements the guitar’s resonant construction.

Hardware is handled by Strandberg’s EGS Rev7 system, a refined headless platform that ensures precise intonation, tuning stability, and minimal excess weight.
