SOURCE AUDIO Unveils The Encounter Ambient Delay + Reverb: A Celestial Voyage Into Sound Design

Source Audio has announced the Encounter Ambient Delay + Reverb, a feature-packed pedal designed to be a “fully-loaded vessel of atmospheric discovery.” Combining lush stereo reverbs with versatile delays, Encounter is purpose-built for players who want to travel from shimmering celestial tones to warped, lo-fi soundscapes — and everything in between.

At the heart of the pedal is a collection of 12 experimental sound engines, including Hypersphere, the brand’s most expansive reverb to date, Shimmers, a dual-voiced pitch-shifted wash, and Noise Tape, a delay that shifts from pristine repeats to mangled chaos.

Other highlights include Trem Verb, which chops massive reverbs with rhythmic tremolo, Reverse, a backwards wash perfect for shoegaze atmospheres, Drum Echo, a rhythmic echo inspired by vintage tape machines, and Helix, a pitch-shifting delay engine with forward and reverse modes.

Players can further expand the pedal’s power with Neuro 3 software (Mac, Windows, iOS, Android), which unlocks deep editing, downloadable presets, and community sharing. In fact, Source Audio says Neuro increases the pedal’s functionality tenfold, giving artists complete control over voicing, modulation, and routing.

The hardware side is just as impressive. True stereo I/O, 128 preset slots (8 onboard, 128 via MIDI), tap tempo, expression pedal support, MIDI clock sync, and Universal Bypass make Encounter as at home on a touring pedalboard as it is in a home studio. The brushed anodized aluminum housing ensures durability, while dedicated footswitches for delay and reverb on/off make real-time performance tweaks seamless.

With analog dry-through preserving your core signal, a lock switch to protect knob settings mid-performance, and deep MIDI integration, Encounter is engineered for both sonic exploration and practical stage use.
