Solar Guitars and Kirk Windstein have teamed up for the brand new Type X1.6KW signature model.
The Type X1.6KW features a fixed Tonepros locking TOM bridge, a set of EMG 85/81 active pickups, and a set-thru “C” Shape Maple neck and Alder body with 24.75″ scale. The Type X1.6KW offers an Ebony fingerboard with 22 super-jumbo stainless steel frets (with a fleur-de-lis inlay at the 12th fret) and custom side block inlays for stage use alongside a Solar 18:1 locking tuners, PPS nut, volume and tone controls. and full access neck.
“The original [prototype of the guitar] took a good beating all over the US,” said Windstein of the guitar. “That’s one of the things that’s most important to me. If a guitar can pass the test of touring, then you’ve got a winner. I love it and so will you.”
The Type X1.6KW is available in Mardi Gras Purple Metallic Gloss finish with black hardware right here for $1,399. The guitar is expected to ship in late June.
