Seymour Duncan and ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons recently rolled out two new iterations of Gibbons’ pickups. Here to walk you through all their fiery capabilities is Collin Littlejohn.
The first is a new iteration of the Signature Billy Gibbons Red Devil set. The pickups were originally introduced as Strat-sized humbucker pickups and are now available as a drop-in replacement bridge pickup for any Telecaster wielding guitarist.
The Red Devil for Tele is built with an Alnico 5 magnet, 4 conductor cable, and a hot wind that drives amps and pedals harder than a traditional vintage humbucker. Get it here for $129.
Then there’s The Hades Gates humbucker set, which is a take on the mid-forward, punchy sound Billy is known for. Alnico 2 magnets and this added output drive your amp into some hot, blue, and righteous territory.
