Beyond his unmistakable voice and era-defining hits like “Kiss From A Rose,” Seal is also a serious gear enthusiast, and he’s now bringing that passion directly to fans with the launch of The Official Seal Reverb Shop.
Set to go live on January 14, the shop offers a curated collection of guitars, pedals, and effects that Seal has accumulated and used throughout his decades-long career. With more than 20 million records sold, six platinum albums, four Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, and multiple chart-topping singles, Seal stands among the most successful artists of the modern era. Yet despite his global fame, his deep relationship with guitar gear has largely flown under the radar – until now.
“I’m fortunate enough that I have a lot of gear,” Seal explains. “I’ve bought way too many pedals, way too many amps, and there are only so many hours in the day. I’m giving people the opportunity to buy some guitars I’m not playing, as well as a whole bunch of pedals I’m not using.”
Pedals, in particular, hold a special place in Seal’s creative process. He speaks of stompboxes as works of art, emphasizing patience and curiosity over instant gratification. Each pedal, he says, deserves time to reveal its personality – what it wants to do, and what it doesn’t.
The shop also highlights Seal’s unique journey as a left-handed guitarist. For most of his career, he played right-handed guitars upside down, only later experimenting with true left-handed instruments. Among the offerings is a Lowden 0-23 acoustic, along with several converted and purpose-built lefty guitars.
Beyond guitars, the shop features a notable selection of effects, including a collection of Spaceman pedals, four Line 6 DL4 units originally purchased for band members, and boutique offerings from Sabbadius, Gamechanger Audio, Vemuram, Crazy Tube Circuits, and more. Two James Goodall TRD-Cl-7116 Lefthanded Dreadnaught single-cut acoustics also appear.
For fans, collectors, and tone chasers alike, it’s a rare chance to own a piece of Seal’s musical journey when the Reverb shop opens January 14.
