The CB-5 is presented in a sleek See Thru Black Satin finish, showing off its Flamed Maple top over a resonant Ash body. The neck-thru construction with Schecter’s Ultra Access heel contour ensures not only maximum sustain but also lightning-fast access to all 24 jumbo frets. Add in an arm contour top for comfort, and this bass feels as good to play as it looks.
The neck is a work of art in itself – multi 5-ply Walnut and Padauk stingers, reinforced with two carbon fiber rods, keep things rock solid even under the tension of a 35-inch scale. The Rosewood fingerboard is dressed with Abalone offset dots and a modern 16-inch radius for smooth bends and technical runs. With a slim “C” shape measuring 20mm at the 1st fret and 22mm at the 12th, the CB-5’s neck invites fast playing without sacrificing comfort.
Electronics are handled by a pair of EMG 40HZ pickups, controlled via a master volume, blend knob, and an active EMG 3-band EQ, letting players sculpt everything from glassy highs to booming lows. Hardware is blacked out for a stealthy look, including the Schecter Diamond Custom Bass bridge and Grover tuners for rock-solid tuning stability.
