Only a few minutes ago, Gear Gods overlord Trey Xavier text me a link to Schecter‘s Facebook page showcasing the new Machine Gun Kelly signature guitar. I had a laugh thinking it was a goofy Chibson post, but nope – this thing is for real.
The Machine Gun Kelly Razor Blade truly exists and you can buy it for $1,499. The body is made of Basswood, the neck is Maple, the fretboard is Ebony, and none of this matters anyway because you’re not buying this because it sounds good. You’re buying it because it’s utterly ridiculous. Or you’re laughing at it because it’s utterly ridiculous.
This is all pretty in line with Kelly’s generally edgelord nature, though this takes the whole “edge” thing to a much more literal place. All that being said, there’s a small part of me that totally wants this thing front and center in the living room. “Oh, that? It’s just my fucking razor guitar. No big deal,” I tell people before they shuffle off to the kitchen to get away from me talking more about it. That, or I’m stuck in a conversation with someone who thinks it’s cool. I don’t know who wins here.
